1. Proof of Ownership & Registration

  • Mulkiya (Vehicle Registration Card) in your company’s name — mandatory.

  • Ideally, the vehicle should be registered in your name or your company’s name, not a loan under a bank. While border officers may not always enforce this strictly, having it properly registered avoids complications.

2. Insurance Valid in Oman (Orange Card)

  • Your standard UAE insurance often does not extend into Oman. You must show an Oman-valid insurance certificate (Orange Card).

    • If your insurer already covers Oman, request the Orange Card in advance

    • Otherwise, you can purchase one at the border—typically costs ~AED 106 for a minimum 5-day third-party coverage.

3. RTA Tourism Certificate

  • Officially required by Dubai RTA if you're taking a Dubai-registered vehicle abroad. Cost: around AED 170.

  • However, many GCC drivers report that this certificate is not always enforced at border checkpoints. Still, better to have it than risk being turned away.

4. No Objection Certificate (NOC)

  • Not needed in your case since the car is owned by your company—but if it were leased or financed, you’d need a notarized, translated NOC from the bank or owner.

5. Personal Documents & Valid License

  • Valid Emirates ID and passport (six months validity). GCC residents get their visa upon arrival—so nothing more is needed upfront.

  • A valid UAE driving license is required. GCC licenses are recognized, but UAE license is safest.

6. Border Exit & Entry Fees

  • Omani visa-on-arrival: 5 OMR (~AED 47) — valid for 14 days.

  • Exit fee (from UAE): AED 35.

7. Vehicle Inspection

  • Your car will be subject to a brief inspection by customs officials.

Summary Guidance

You're set for the road trip. Because the car is owned by your company and you’re a GCC resident:

  • You don’t need a visa ahead, as long as you have your Emirates ID and passport.

  • Bring your vehicle registration, obtain an Orange Card if needed, keep the RTA tourism certificate (optional but safer), show your UAE driving license, Emirates ID, and pay the small fees at the border.

  • After passing an inspection, you'll be cleared into Oman.
